It helps to include your iPhone or iPad model, its iOS version, and Mosaic's version (in Mosaic, Settings > About), and a screenshot if something looks wrong.

Getting started

How do I add a Mosaic widget?

Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Mosaic. There is one widget for each size: Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large, and on iPad, Wide. Pick a size and tap Add Widget.

My new widget is empty. Is something wrong?

No. Every zone starts empty, so a widget shows only what you choose. Touch and hold the widget, choose Edit Widget, and pick an element for each numbered zone.

How do I change a widget's layout, theme, or place?

Touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget. Layout changes the arrangement, and each numbered zone can hold any element that fits it. Below the zones, choose the widget's place, whether its zones are transparent, and its own theme and font.

Settings in Mosaic apply to every widget: Appearance sets the theme, font, Light and Dark, and density, and Widgets sets how Agenda draws.

What does Mosaic need, and does it run on Mac?

Mosaic runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 27 or later. It isn't available for Mac yet.

Weather and places

The weather isn't showing.

Mosaic needs to know where to show weather for. Either allow location access (Settings > Apps > Mosaic > Location > While Using the App) and open Mosaic once, or give the widget a city: in Edit Widget, set Relative to Location and choose one.

Weather also needs an internet connection. If the widget says the weather is out of date, it will catch up the next time it can reach Apple Weather.

Can I use Mosaic without sharing my location?

Yes. Give each widget a city in Edit Widget (Relative, then Location), and its weather never needs your own. When you do share it, Mosaic keeps it only rounded to about 1 km.

How do I show the weather or time somewhere else?

In Edit Widget, set Relative to Location, then choose a city from World Clock or by searching. The whole widget moves there, and its top names the city. With Relative off, it shows where you are. World Clock shows the time in several cities at once: add them in Mosaic's World Clock.

Calendar

My events aren't showing.

Check that Mosaic can read your calendars in Settings > Apps > Mosaic > Calendars, with Full Access. Then, in Mosaic, check Settings > Calendars: the calendars chosen there are the ones a widget shows unless it chooses its own. To see a widget's own, touch and hold it, tap Edit Widget, and look at Calendars. An active Focus filter may also limit them.

Can different widgets show different calendars?

Yes. Touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and choose Calendars. Every calendar on your device is offered, even ones turned off in Mosaic's Calendars screen, and every event zone on that widget shows the ones you choose. App Default, the first choice, follows Mosaic's Calendars screen.

How do I show only work calendars during a Work Focus?

Open the Settings app, go to Focus, choose your Focus, and under Focus Filters tap Add Filter. Choose Mosaic and pick the calendars to show while that Focus is on.

How do I change how far ahead Agenda and Next Event look?

In Mosaic, Settings > Widgets sets which days Agenda's events show, and Days Ahead sets how far ahead every widget reads your calendar: 30, 60, 90, 180, or 365 days. Agenda's Fill Widget lists that far, and Next Event looks that far for the next event. The same screen sets whether each day shows its weather and whether events carry a bar in their calendar's color; the text size is in Appearance.

How do I tie a widget to a trip or an event?

Touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, set Relative to Event, and choose the event. Mosaic offers the events of the next two years in your calendars, soonest first, and you can search them by title; events that repeat more often than yearly aren't offered. Once tied, the whole widget moves to the event's place and day (its weather, sun, moon, clocks, date, and agenda), and a small label in the top margin names the city and date. Choose Days Remaining for a zone to count down to it.

Where do Birthdays come from?

From the Birthdays calendar that Calendar keeps from your contacts' birthdays. Birthdays shows the coming year of them by each person's name, taken from the birthday's title in Calendar (where Mosaic can't tell the name apart from the title, it shows the title), whatever calendars the widget or a Focus chose, so you can leave Birthdays out of a widget's Calendars to keep them out of its Agenda. If it asks you to turn on Birthdays, open Calendar, tap Calendars, and turn on Birthdays.

How do I set up a widget for a trip?

Tie it to the trip: in Edit Widget, set Relative to Event and choose the trip. The widget moves to the trip's place and day: Date shows the day, Agenda lists it, and the weather shows its forecast once it's within about ten days. Clocks show the time there now. Set Relative to Off, or choose None, to untie it.

Reminders

My reminders aren't showing.

Check that Mosaic can read your reminders in Settings > Apps > Mosaic > Reminders, with Full Access. Reminders shows what's overdue and due today, and a large zone adds tomorrow; a reminder with no due date doesn't show. To choose a widget's lists, touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and choose Reminder Lists.

Can I tick off a reminder on the widget?

Yes. Tap the circle beside a reminder and Mosaic marks it done in Reminders, without opening an app. That's the only change Mosaic ever makes to your data. Tap the reminder's title to open it in Reminders.

Health and Home

Fitness or Health shows no data.

Mosaic can only read the kinds of Health data you've allowed. Open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps, then Mosaic, and turn on what you want to see. Some elements need a source, such as an Apple Watch for rings or a scale for weight.

iPhone protects Health data while it's locked, so a widget shows the latest totals Mosaic saved; it catches up after you unlock.

Home shows an old reading.

Apple lets only the app, not its widgets, read your home. Mosaic reads it while the app is open, and widgets show that last reading with its time. Open Mosaic to update it.

Can Mosaic lock my doors or turn on lights?

No. Mosaic only reads Health and Home, and never changes them. Tap a Home element to open the Home app.

Widgets

My widget isn't up to date.

iOS decides how often widgets refresh, to save battery. Clocks and countdowns keep time on their own, and Mosaic plans the rest of the day ahead, but weather, Health, and Home update as often as iOS allows. Opening Mosaic refreshes every widget.

Text is cut off or a zone looks crowded.

Each element picks the richest version of itself that fits its zone. Try a layout with a bigger zone for it, or for Agenda, a smaller text size in Settings > Widgets. If something still doesn't fit, please send us a screenshot.

Do Mosaic widgets work with tinted and clear Home Screens?

Yes. Every theme is checked for legibility, and widgets adapt to tinted and clear Home Screen appearances as well as Light and Dark.

Privacy

Does Mosaic collect my data?

No. There's no account and no Mosaic server, and no analytics or tracking. Your calendar, reminders, location, health data, and home stay on your device. Read the full privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

Delete Mosaic from your device, and everything it keeps is deleted with it. We hold no copy.
